At this year's Memorial Van Damme, Plan International Belgium is organizing a separate Equal Rights Run, a 100m race for which 9 companies could buy a track to support their girls' sports projects in Senegal. 💪 After working with Plan International Belgium for several projects, we didn't want to miss out on this one! We helped promote the run with powerful videos and started an internal competition to find our lucky candidate who will get to run in a full stadium next week! It's worth going the extra mile to generate awareness for a great cause like this one. 🚀
Why is StoryMe taking part in the Equal Rights Run ?
We believe the Sports world needs role models like the Belgian Cheetahs (who are Plan Ambassadors), to change girls' perception on sports. By participating in the Equal Rights Run, we want to help Plan International Belgium generate more awareness for equal rights in sports and empower girls to just go for it! There are a lot of girls at StoryMe, and their girl power vibe is just great - this should be possible anywhere.
We really believe initiatives like this one will eventually help change gender stereotypes, and that isn't an easy task in the countries in which Plan International Belgium operates, so every little bit helps! 💛
The Videos 🎥
The first video was made to announce the Belgian Cheetahs as sport ambassadors for Plan International Belgium, who'll help girls to get equal through different sports projects. Together, we created an empowering video with strong testimonials from the three girls.

For the second video, we also used shots of the Belgian Cheetahs at their stadium, combined with text on screen to promote the Equal Rights Run itself and to drive action ! 🎯
The StoryMe competition 🏋️♀️
Lots of StoryMe sporty spices signed up to compete for that one spot at the 100m Equal Rights Run and they went all the way to win! They showed off their signature moves, had heated water balloon fights, took planking to the next level, cheered each other on like never before, and tried to convince us with personal video messages. Everything could be followed on StoryMe's instagram, helping to generate awareness for the Equal Rights Run.

The final countdown! 🎉
Next week, our winning candidate will get a training from the Belgian Cheetahs & their trainer Cédric Van Branteghem! That'll get her ready for the big day itself: the Equal Rights Run will take place at the start of the Memorial Vandamme on Friday, September 6th. Curious to see how it goes? So are we! Follow our Instagram to experience the Equal Rights Run with us 📲.
P.S.: It's not too late to show your support for Plan Belgium: You can still buy tickets to join us at the Memorial Van Damme or support one of the many other #girlsgetequal initiatives!
Hope to see you there!
